The police are really quite useful in some situations. You may think they are only around to give you a hard time, but if you ever find yourself in need of help from the police, it’s good to have the right phone numbers handy.
UNRPD Duty Phone – (775)784-6195
An on-duty UNR officer carries this phone 24/7 so it’s probably the quickest way to get a response from Police Services. If you are on campus, at a university event or at any property owned and/or operated by the university, this is the number to call.
University Police Services Office – (775)784-4013
If you have a question, need to speak to a specific officer, need information on your case, want to schedule a ride-a-long, fingerprinting etc. you can call the office Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm excluding holidays or other campus closure. You can also do most of these things, including filing a non-emergency police report on the UNRPD website at www.unr.edu. Or send an email to our general email address: unrpd@police.unr.edu
Reno Police – (775)334-2121
This is the non-emergency dispatch line for Reno Police. If you’re in the city of Reno and you need an officer to respond, call this number.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency dispatch line – (775)328-3001 #2
If you are outside the Reno city limits and need an officer to respond, call 328-3001 for Washoe County Sheriff. When the voice message starts, press 2 for the non-emergency dispatch line.
